Welcome to Salient Works. We are a small startup from Kirkland WA that works on new solutions in data analysis and visualization. Our major project is a new type of framework for management, visualization and analysis of time-oriented data for applications in healthcare, finance and security.

The paragraph above is our original elevator pitch. It is still fully valid and correct, but it doesn't tell the whole story. We live in times of small data revolution, when data are becoming much more available and questions of what to do with them are more and more relevant. This is why our main goals are to make data more useful for individuals, to help them find value in data streams, and to guide them towards the answers and sometimes the questions.

Individual data are becoming more social. If they are to be shared with other people and groups, we need interactions to be simple and also secure in every cooperation scenario. Shared data have potential to change the world. This requires appropriately designed solutions, meeting strong fundamental requirements and operating based on clear rules. As data are contributed to data oceans, they should be also available as contexts for individual analysis.

These are part of the story that we will try to tell in this blog. We will use it to share and document our efforts: experiments, features, solutions, and their real life application case studies. And finally to announce release of our products.
